I love it. Give that man a pat on the back.

And a medal.

Alas, but it ain't true. It's part of their "fake news" thing. I didn't notice it until I looked at the other stories listed below the article involving the same "local man" character...

Anyway, still a darn good story. I wish it were true. And I wish Wal Mart sold Jerry Reed, gosh darnit.

Dang. This is the second time I've done that. Must be a bit more careful. It actually did cross my mind that it was a bit too good to be true, but I didn't pay attention.

The guy seemed a touch too articulate. Now I have to go fix it on Facebook, too.

It's still funny though, reminds me of The Onion. I've been listening to a lot of country music lately (it's pretty much all I've been listening to actually, I'm a bit worried)... I feel his pain (fake pain). The new country really is gawd awful.

There was something about the "Flatt and Smuggs" that didn't quite ring true, but I don't think there's any kind of outrageous behaviour that would seem impossible to me.

I've never seen anyone dress like that in California, although I guess there a places where people do. It looks more like what you might see around here. We actually had a student attend class at the seminary in overalls with no shirt once.

There was a time when country people had quit wearing overalls and hippies had started. But offhand I can't remember seeing them on anybody for a long time.

I also wondered about people in California talking that way, but maybe the transplanted Okies etc of the '30s were enough to keep the tradition alive.

"The new country is really gawd-awful." Agreed.

what a shame it's not true!

Bring back smocks, that's what I say!
